Small Update

Hello world!

Hey guys, just wanted to make a quick update on the game.  There are two things that I want to talk about, so let's dive right in.

Firstly, I've decided it's time to share with you guys the first playable demo!  This is version Pre-Alpha 0.3.2.  It's been in the works for about 2-3 weeks now.  I'm so excited to share it, and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I have making it!

The second item of business, is about the future of this project.  This is a serious undertaking I've allowed myself to take.  This game will take a lot of time to make and perfect as much as possible, and I will work hard to make it the best I can.

There's a lot about the future that is uncertain, as the future often is.  As long as I'm able, I will do my best to make this game until completion.

But, at that note, there may be extended periods of time that I will put this project on hold.  If you do not see an update from me in a long period of time, it's probably means that other, more important things have come up.  I will do my best to make sure you guys are in the loop on this project, and what's happening on my end.

With all that said, I'm glad to see such a warm reception to this project.  Thanks, and have a great day!

First Game Update

Hello World!

Welcome to the first official update post on this blog.  There are many things to update on, so I'll get started right away.

First, we have a video showcasing some of the mechanics design in the prototype.  Things are bound to change, but it does it's job for now. You can find that here.

Secondly, the composer on the team has shared the first prototype piece on his Soundcloud.  It's a wonder piece, and I would highly suggest you take a listen.

We also have a bit of concept art of left over characters on that page, so feel free to check that out on the left.

We are also working on the basic outline of the story, and settling on which characters we will be including in the main team.  The story as of yet will not be revealed until we get farther along.

Thanks for reading, and we'll see you in the future updates!

Welcome to Stories of Nibel

Hello world!

My name is Will, and I'm an aspiring game designer.  It is my dream to work for a game studio and design games people love.  Until that dream becomes a reality, I make fan games and prototypes of all kinds.

What is this Blog?

This blog is all about the project currently named Stories of NibelStories of Nibel is a game designed to tell the story of some of the fallen Forest Spirits of Nibel.  It will take place before Kuro's rage, and will follow a small group as they try to fix whatever chaos has befallen their precious land.

This blog will be used in posting screenshots, concept art, and occasional demos of this upcoming game.  Any and all things you may want to know about this game's development will be posted here, short of spoiling the whole story.

But why make a Blog?

I love games. Whether it's designing, playing, watching others play, etc.  I've always been fascinated with both the way games are now, and how they got where they are.  Therefore, I'm making this blog to show the story of this game.  I want others to see how this game came to be the way it is.

The other reason is to get feedback from you guys.  This is a fan game, and I want you guys to be able to say what you like/dislike.  If you guys aren't happy with something, then I want to do my best to satisfy your guys' requests.

Not a solo effort

While I aspire to design games for a living, I'm not planning on doing this alone.  Game's almost always require a team, therefore, I need your help.  I don't want a huge team, but there are parts that I am unable to fulfill:

- Art (both animated and environment)
- Level Design

If you have specialty in any of these areas, email me at StoriesOfNibel@gmail.com with some examples/portfolio.  I will consider you work, and while I can't guarantee I will bring you on board, I will do my best to be as respectful as I can.

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you're as excited as I am for this project.  See you in the future!
